You've Come a Long Way

This morning, I read the final chapters of Exodus. It ends on a high note… wow! The glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle! It’s done! Everything has been made, assembled, dedicated, and set for use. God has moved in. The glory of God is so thick in the Tabernacle that Moses can’t even go inside. This is God among His people!

Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. (Exodus 40:34–35, KJV)

This morning, I was overwhelmed by these thoughts. Look at how far Israel has come in the book of Exodus! Once slaves, now free! They went from making bricks for Pharaoh to building a Tabernacle for God! They are no longer under taskmasters but under God’s care and protection! God delivered Israel!

As believers, we can see this same God doing the same thing in our lives! Where were you when God found you? Where are you today? Yep, it’s time to praise God! Yes, the road is tough at times. There can be fears, dark valleys, and even a sense of desperation. But there are also rest stops and milestones along the way, as well as small and large victories. There is God along the way! And the destination God has in mind is full of His glory!

As a believer, you have come a long way! Look how far you have come! Let’s rejoice in what God has done and look ahead to the amazing journey with great anticipation!

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; (Ephesians 1:6–8, KJV)
Thank you for joining me as I read and journal through the Bible chronologically. Today’s reflection: Exodus 39-40 (Day 43).
